Addmaster has worked closely with an independent laboratory to prove the viral efficacy of Biomaster technology against Feline Coronavirus.
Test have shown a reduction of up to 95% against the strain on treated fabrics after two hours. Viral testing was carried out with Biomaster fabric spray and impregnated fabric against ISO18184.
Addmaster Regulatory Affairs Manager Lesley Taylor explains: “Feline Coronavirus and Covid-19 are members of the Coronaviridae family of viruses which cause a broad spectrum of animal and human disease.
This group of viruses are enveloped and rely on a protective lipid coating and amongst the easiest types of virus to deactivate. Biomaster has yet to be tested against Covid-19 on product surfaces and currently there is not yet a suitable method validated for Covid-19, however the result clearly demonstrates the antiviral efficacy of Biomaster against a member of the Coronaviridae family.
We will of course continue to test to provide our partners with data about the efficacy of Biomaster technology against viruses.”
In independent laboratory tests, analysis has previously identified that Biomaster fabric spray is also effective at reducing the viability of Norovirus applied to porous surfaces such as textiles and paper. The spray reduced the viral load by 93% in half an hour and 99% within an hour.
